Intervention services

A trained drug and alcohol interventionist is a specialist. It is imperative to get a well qualified trained interventionist to handle an intervention. Just because you can watch a show about interventions, doesn't mean you can handle and direct one. An intervention is like visiting with a psychologist, you need a trained professional to do it correctly.

We provide intervention services for drugs, alcohol and eating disorders. We have handled all types of drugs, cocaine, crack, heroin, speed, valiums, barbiturates, ecstasy and alcohol. We will research the drug type the addict is using, and develop a strategy for dealing with the individual addict, and the specific drug. Each addict will develop a pattern from the drugs they choose to abuse. By analyzing the choices of drugs, we can come up with a successful strategy for confronting the addict. While a heroin addict and methamphetamine addict both have a serious problem, they will handle a group of people trying to make them quit their drug habits differently.

A successful intervention requires a meeting with the addicts friends, family and others, to analyze their drug usage, and how far they have let their addiction go. A casual user gone bad will require a different level of persuasion than a hard core, long term drug addict. By talking to the people close to the addict, we will learn what level of intervention will be required, and what the best approach will be.

A drug addict in the advanced phases of addiction can almost be compared to a zombie type character. They move around without any cognizant thought, and are living just to get their drugs and feed their drug addiction. The drug addict is not the same person that they used to be, the person you used to love and care about. They do not care about their friends, family or work, drugs are the only motivating factor in their life.

This is where a trained intervention counselor is key, we can ask the right questions to see the addicts level of involvement with drugs, and formulate the best strategy for facing the addict and making them realize that their drug use and addiction is not only destroying themselves, but also hurting the people around them that care about them.
